Lumiere Festival:

Literally lighting up our streets is the return of the magical Lumiere Festival from 18th – 21st January.  Over this weekend our fair city plays host to over fifty artworks, illuminating London’s famous architecture.  Predominantly located in Kings Cross, The West End, Southbank and Westminster, locals and visitors alike will flood the streets to take in the magnificent spectacles of London in technicolour.  With artists participating from around the world, an ethereal glow will envelope the city and there will be more call than ever before to #LookUp in London.

Here’s some of our favourite installations from last year’s Lumiere festival, and the inspiration we’ve taken to some of our very own events…Keep your eyes on our Instagram this weekend @PrincipalLondonDMC to see this year’s best works.

NEW Openings for 2018

Grace Hall:

One of 2018’s hotly anticipated new venue openings, Grace Hall delivers in versatility, elegance and style.  Located in the trendy East End, the space plays host to a myriad of different rooms within the venue, offering something for everyone from the largest Main Hall, to the sultry low lit basement room the Grace Below.  With high ceilings and sweeping marble, the Art Deco, neoclassical grandeur of this former financial establishment makes Grace Hall effortlessly elegant.

Our favourite area is The Director’s Observatory, which overlooks The Main Hall.  Accessed by a beautiful winding staircase, a dazzling feature window overlooks Leadenhall’s vibrant market and allows for a flood of natural daylight.  By night, this is the perfect venue to consider for hosting an intimate dinner party for up to 40 guests in this secret snug.

A firm favourite in 2018

Cahoots:

Experience London’s Underground, and we don’t mean the tube..!  Not technically a new opening, but we can’t help but feature this quirky underground bar, sure to delight any who enter.  Cahoots in infamous Soho offers delegates a chance to experience London’s underground like never before!  Reminiscent of a 1940s tube carriage, guests will be immersed in a London from times gone by surrounded by vintage bric a brac and swing singers.  This venue can cater for up to 150 and epitomises Great British Gumption, offering ‘tipples and rations’ for delegates and offering a remarkably delightful experience guaranteed to shake any inkling of January Blues!  Feel even more delightfully British with an afternoon tea Picnic experience.

Afternoon Tea:

A year round activity sure to tickle the taste buds and delight your delegates, London offers numerous notable destinations to enjoy Afternoon Tea.  From the traditional, hosted at the iconic Ritz Hotel, to the unique and alternative – perhaps enjoy your tea on a double decker bus.  But why not take it one step further?  With January a month of resolutions and the will to try something new, take on the task of baking and creating your very own ultimate afternoon tea before enjoying the fruits of your labour…
