Information Technology Client: Product Launch

Back to Case Studies

The brief

An industry leading Technology client came to us to organise a very secret product launch for their new software, with hopes to launch on the 29th February – a leap year. The event hosted 180 people ranging from industry media, high level management and clients. Requirements included transfers, VIP cars, accomodation and a wow factor setting that highlighted the importance of the event date and linked back to the new product name – Quantum Leap! As ever in the events industry, there was a catch. The event was due to happen in less than four weeks, due to the secrecy of the software. The pressure was on!

The solution

With worldwide press due to attend, we needed to create an impressive and visually striking setting, with strong branding and theming.  We opted for Tobacco Dock in London’s East End as this grade 2 listed building leant itself perfectly to our needs.  Working tirelessly with the venue, graphic designers and AV team, and playing on the leap year, we chose to have 3 purpose built, giant 3 metre frogs throughout the venue, presented as bespoke sculptures, as well as being depicted through vinyl on glass walls and digital frogs leaping across a 10 metre presentation LED screen.  Due to the nature of the venue, we needed to bring absolutely everything in, from soft furnishings to a temporary kitchen space.  Once the space was built, we then turned our hand to overseeing all areas of food and beverage service, AV and technical set up, and delegate registration. Our team also managed all transfers from HQ to ensure delegates got to the venue on time.

The verdict

The client was amazed at what we achieved in such a short time!  The event was an assault on the senses, with branding, food and lighting all stimulating the brain at every opportunity.  We managed to create an evening with lasting impact, despite the restrictions of working in a listed building, and the very real time pressures that we faced!
